Advancement / outreach manager

Classification: Part-Time (approximately 10-15 hrs a week), Nonexempt

general summary and objectives 

The Advancement / Outreach Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing various fundraising efforts and community engagement activities. These activities will encourage, maintain, and increase engagement and support to meet the financial obligations of the pregnancy center. Additionally, the Advancement / Outreach Manager will maintain the donor base, identify opportunities to increase donor support, and research and identify potential grant opportunities.

The Advancement / Outreach Manager works closely with the Executive Director  to identify and coordinate strategic initiatives in donor relations, capital campaign steering committees, and fundraising efforts through ministry events. Will help schedule and manage appointments with churches and major donors and setting up and preparing for weekend church presentations.

Specific Duties and Key Responsibilities: 

1. Work closely with the Executive Director to:

  • Develop fundraising strategies and goals
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals.
  • Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors.
  • Plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization.

2. Assist Executive Director in coordinating and attending all major fundraisers

  •  Annual Event- November
  •  Spring Fundraising Event- April
  •  Walk for Life- June
3. Share in responsibility with the Executive Director and Client Services Manager to promote NDWC’s mission, services and community engagement by speaking to businesses, church congregations, community fairs, schools, and any community event where NDWC hosts a booth/table.

4. Share contact information with Client Services Manager and Operations Manager information for any individuals interested in volunteering, being added to our mailing list, or churches/businesses who want to become sponsors.

5. Research and apply for any potential sources of grants and public funding.

6. Partner with other NDWC staff and to plan fundraising events that effectively communicate the purposes of the organization.

7. Demonstrate strong servant leadership by supporting and promoting harmony and a ministry of restoration/reconciliation modeled after Christ’s example, serving clients and volunteers effectively and lovingly and supporting and promoting NDWC’s mission.

8. Plan, direct, or coordinate activities designed to create or maintain a favorable public image and raise issue awareness for the organization and mission.

9. Plan, direct, or coordinate activities to solicit and maintain funds for special projects or nonprofit
organizations.

10. In fund development: annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, special events, and other ongoing activities.

11. Assist Executive Director in nurturing relationships with collaborative partners.

12. Collaborate with the Communications team to develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials.

13. Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed

Qualifications:
1. Express full agreement with NDWC Statement of Faith, Mission Statement and Code of Christian Conduct.
2. Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
3. Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual purity.
4. Exhibit skill in interpersonal communication, public speaking, and problem solving.
5. Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, and support to the volunteers and staff.
6. Be able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision.
7. Fundraising experience, grant writing, event coordination, and donor/customer relations experience helpful but not necessary.
8. Some college or equivalent job-related experience, preferably in office management, social work, marketing, office administration, or related service field. Some experience in church or Christian ministry.
9. General computer and technology skills including data entry, internet usage, report generation, mobile devices, social media, etc.
10. Excellent oral and written communication skills to relate to professional, medical, church and social service agencies/organizations, as well as volunteers, clients and donors. .
11. Self-starter with good judgment and integrity.
12. Willingness and ability to serve clients and other NDWC constituencies (including other staff, donors, vendors, etc.) in a way that honors Jesus Christ and supports and promotes NDWC life-affirming ministry.
13. Willingness and ability to demonstrate commitment to NDWC’s mission in the execution of position responsibilities.
14. Willingness and ability to share the gospel of Jesus Christ by word and example (including prayer) to encourage clients, staff and other NDWC
