General summary and objectives

The Development Operations Manager advances the organization’s fundraising efforts by leading the systems, data infrastructure, and operational processes that support the development strategy. This role ensures the donor database (CRM), giving platforms, payment processing, reporting, and fundraising workflows operate with accuracy, efficiency, and strategic alignment. The Development Operations Manager oversees the operational execution of fundraising campaigns and events and supports communication with key partners, including donors, businesses, and churches to ensure initiatives are implemented smoothly and consistently.


Reporting to the Finance Manager and partnering closely with the Executive Director, the Development Operations Manager translates fundraising goals into practical action through accurate reporting, timely communication, and consistent operational support.

Specific Duties and Key Responsibilities:

1. Donor Database & Fundraising Systems

a. Maintain and update the donor database to achieve accurate records and effective donor communication.

b. Develop, document, and enforce donor database procedures to ensure data integrity and consistency.

c. Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of donor information, maintaining the integrity of donor lists and upholding ethical standards in all data handling.

d. Process address changes, returned mail, and incoming donations/checks in a timely manner.

e. Review and update online donations and submissions.

f. Generate donor reports and mailing lists as needed.

2. Support Donor Relationships & Fundraising Strategy

a. Assist the Executive Director and Finance Manager in setting and tracking annual fundraising goals.

b. Research, evaluate, and support implementation of new fundraising approaches.

c. Generate donor reports to identify trends, lapsed donors, and upgrade opportunities.

d. Prepare donor profiles and reports to inform engagement strategies.

e. Track and document interactions with donors, church partners and corporate sponsors, and ensure timely follow-up to strengthen these relationships.

f. Manage donor acknowledgements and thank-you communications.

g. Manage grant schedule and submissions, ensuring timely data collection from team members and completion of reporting.

h. Collaborate with the communications team to create and distribute donor communications and marketing materials.

3. Event Support and Campaign Coordination

a. Lead operational planning and coordination of fundraising events

b. Coordinate the Baby Bottle Boomerang (BBB) fundraiser, including managing bottle inventory, distributing materials to participating churches, and recording returned donations.

c. Manage fundraising-related logistics for events such as Walk for Life, Annual Gala, Timber-Ridge, rose sale and school fundraisers.

d. Process and record donations and donor information received from events.

e. Track and report event revenue to support fundraising analysis and planning.

Qualifications:
1. Express full agreement with NDWC Statement of Faith, Mission Statement and Code of Christian Conduct.
2. Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
3. Serves with a heart of mercy, grace and love.
4. Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, and support to the volunteers and staff.
5. Agrees with and fully embraces the ministry expectations for all employees working at NDWC outlined in the Employee Handbook.
6. Reflect our Christian values of service, humility, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others.
7. Some college or equivalent job-related experience, preferably in office management, office administration, or related service field. Some experience in church or Christian ministry.
8. Basic computer skills including data entry and internet usage
9. Ability to participate in development of organizational procedures to maintain flow and efficiency of staff and volunteers.
10. Excellent oral and written communication skills to relate to professional, medical, church and social service agencies/organizations, as well as volunteers, clients and donors.
11. Self-starter with good judgment and integrity.
12. Willingness and ability to serve clients and other NDWC constituencies (including other staff, donors, vendors, etc.) in a way that honors Jesus Christ and supports and promotes NDWC life-affirming ministry.
